Making Babies
by Anthony Xavier Jackson
Everything is prayer
With your
Soft
Magnificent
Inviting
Hopeful
Downy warm
Drowsy
Eyes wide open
We’re supine
Hot
Skin
On skin
Soliciting
The heaven
Between
Curled lips
Praying
To drip celestial babies
Into doubts
Eclipsed
Swallowing the shape
Swaddled in the warmth
Of my teeming tongue
The kaleidoscope you are
Eats corners
Blisters suns
Churns smooth
7 year itches
Into calm lion hums
Do you think
When
Our ancestors
Watch us play
They place bets
On which stars
Our explosions will burn
Today?
